Since she's not a silkie you can probably break her in jail. I had 4 broody silkies all together in jail since I don't have that many jail cells

and they just snuggled together and brooded together.

I finally gave up and they eventually quit....after about 6 weeks...during which time our egg production dropped to almost zero!!

Poor Nutmeg. I have a Nutmeg, but we call her Meg. She's a huge RIR/Buff Orp with flaming red-orange feathers.

Ravishaw: I had 2 BO girls do that too me this summer and they kept breaking their eggs... so finally I gave up with them.

australorpchick: Oh yes, she has that crazy look in her eyes, lol

oldtimegator: Your story made me laugh... my egg productions has been down all summer... broodies and molting have been the problem. I do love having broodies, but not so many of them, lol.

I have alot of BO/RIR mixes and love watching them feather out and seeing all the different shades of colors.
