Hello.
Looking for some advice please, first time on here so hopefully do it right.
Collected two 8-10 week old chicks Sunday afternoon, brought them home settled them in and unfortunately during that transition the weather turned bad, raining and temp drop and discovered one had developed a sneeze that got worse by the Monday, so separated them and placed in broader to warm up keeping close eye.
Next morning discovered one pooping blood, rushed to vets for anti b's and now everyone is on 5 day course.
That's the story the advice I need is that everything I've read says by the time they start passing blood it's generally when you loose them due to blood loss and weakness so what can I do/give to assist replenishing energy/iron levels if anything at all, really want to do everything I can for her.

Sneezing usually isn't something to worry about unless it's accompanied by facial swelling or discharge from the nostrils. It was most likely just dust or some air-borne particles they weren't used to. At their age, they should have been able to handle rain. I had 1 week old chicks running around in drizzle all day long today completely ignoring their mother. They are tougher than most give them credit for.
Pooping blood is usually a sign of coccidiosis, but it's not always an emergency. If they were acting normally otherwise, then it's a case that might not need intervention. Most chickens have coccidia in their systems, and they develop resistance to it. Not all antibiotics treat coccidia. Corid is much safer and more effective.
It's never a good idea to put new birds in with a flock straight away.

Thanks guys, I will admit I'm angry at my own stupidly thinking because I had both sets from same place they'd be ok, breeder is very clean and well managed.
Both birds still sneezing though there is no discharge, both eating moving and drinking. There was an awful lot of blood poop yesterday from the worse one but today seems darker and more solid. This is a horrible thing to go through keep mine all so clean free range often and more treats than I get, gutted to have poorly ones. Is it ok to give corid with the anti b's at same time?

What antibiotic are you giving? Ive gone thru cocci with my flock and lost 1 pullet but was able to save the rest. You have to jump on cocci at the soonest possible time. I used Corid powder- 1 1/2 tsp per gallon of water. Change water every day and treat whole flock whether they are showing signs or not.

its tylan for 5 days in water, treating all my other birds also to prevent though I've read symptoms can take few days to appear, keeping them all completely clean and watching droppings like a hawk, so far only New babies showing any illness, so frustrated as was so proud of all my healthy chicks.
She's doing all normal things today spent a lot of yesterday asleep so thought I'd loose her fingers crossed. I will get some corid as soon as can get to farmer supplies, any extra food you could recommend that would help her tummy

you can try wetting their food with the corid water. Making it into a mash, they seem to like that. You can also try some scrambled egg. Do not give any vitamins while on the Corid. You can give vitamins when the corid is done.

Thank you I'll do that, been giving them ground porridge also as all my birds love it. Will do egg soon also.
Currently sat waiting for her to poop since cleaning them out lol

Good to know thank you I will get some corid. Little one doing much better this afternoon and now pooping normally! Her poop was lit blood and blood clots (sorry) yesterday. Any chance it could have been anything else wrong with her? I really thought she'd pass on yesterday but now other than for odd sneeze she's acting normal
