2 weak chickens died on allotment last week
Now my ginge for no reason is sulking like her sister was before she died
Keeps laying down won’t jump down n stuff she eats if I feed her like but I’m worried she will end up like her sister and I don’t k is why ? They been fine seems so random ? There not getting anything they can’t eat

But she is even sat funny /weak

The other chickens that died went weak and basically like deformed legs and the weld unmet that died lost weight and died

This Lincolnshire buff sister got weak n died and now this one’s seems weak ?

Could it be merreks desease ? I’m guessing wtf do I do here ?

She is looking rather pale. Did you check carefully for red poultry mites?

It is the time of the year... and they can suck the life out of a chicken within a few days.

So sorry this is happening to your hens!

So just to clarify, two chickens died last week. They seem to stop eating on their own and become weak/start sitting around like the picture, then die. Now a new hen is exhibiting the same symptoms. Did I get that right?

It also sounds like you've begun worming them, is that what the medicated feed is for?

Sorry to ask so many questions, just want to be sure I understand the situation before I ask for further details. ❤️ Wishing all the best for your hen's recovery!

With so many dying I would send one in for necropsy. Check the list for your state vet laboratory and call them about the details.

Yeah there is no red mite and we have been using spynosads and pyrethrins we did have poultry lice and we’ve just about killed all of them

How old are they? Where did you get them? Did you recently get chickens from someone else? The symptoms do sound like Marek's. The only way to verify if it's Marek's is to send a body to your state lab. The green poo means that she's starving. Please check to see if they have mites/lice or worm first. Heavy load of mites/lice or worm could cause death too, but rarely so many chickens at the same time.

They are 1 year old she still drinks and moves about and will peck at herbs n greens still
She’s been standing past hours in a box separate
We have wormed with flubenvet food
We have had new chickens for 9weeks non of which are weak there very strong and fat lol there is 1 with a swollen belly was told is a Hernia but as she isn’t in pain to leave her be her feathers are scruffy too don’t seem to grow back at all ?? I put down to being mounted she is happy alert and lead chicken lol

,I do think they brought in the lice though which have treated for and seem to be clear and egg leftovers disappearing
We can’t find any mites at all anywhere skin is pink
Guess her pale comb is due to lack of eating too then eh ?
And the poops

We haven’t seen any worms and I check through their poop
I spray effective microbes on everything and have been keeping the coop clean of any sawdust or anything which is annoying, but helps reduce hiding places for mites so I am scraping wood n poop daily and binning it not even composting lol

She was fine till late yesterday sulked but stil ate cheese n stuff then today stopped eating she pecked at cottage cheese and greens but not eating

Yes the order went like this

1 Leg bar and barred rock x2 born deformed and weak almost died at few week old one barred did die
They grew up so small and weak and without getting bullied sectioned the self off and refused to eat if they could see chickens so we had to separate them from the flock to eat , the leg bar never wanted to eat she was stubborn and skinny from that and believe didn’t grow due to refusing to eat , barred rock relyied on her as a mum and copied everything she did even not eating , small too and weakly dropping wing and barred sneezed they went to the allotment to be quarentine together

2 My home chickens one got weak lost weight and we took her in to feed and found lice bad in the heat so we treated them all with permethrin and Spinosad and had like 99% death rate next day ,
But that chicken died too that day

3 her sister doing better now got poorly like this yellow poops weak so we moved her to the allotment where the other chickens were that was poorly was to stop the flock getting all poorly
The legbar died that day and the barred rock attached herself to the chicken that was not well (barred rock kept sneezing)

4 my Lincolnshire buff went broody just as we found lice day 10 of her brooding she was doing such a good job off for 10 mins back on the works then one hot day refused to move and next day we moved her out the others thinking stress she stopped eating except pecking and died 3 days later

5 a week on and the Lincolnshire buff sister is now yellow poop and resting and was fine I assumed she was sulking at her companion at first until she refused to eat today and just layed down limp

Today she seems more alert but won’t eat
Is that a concern like she drinks and she is standing not laying but stil doesn’t seem right
