Well the good news is her link is a legitimate link to amazon. From reading more about the cookie laws it would seem a site only needs to tell you once and give you the choice to opt in or out. I ignore cookie notifications altogether. Hopefully Rob can explain more.

It's possible that you got that because those links go to US Amazon pages.

I just tried it. All the links seem to work ok. Looks like something tried phishing you. Good job not opening it. You never know what nasty things are on the other side of the button.
Oh, and incubator no.5 isn't any good. I have one and it's rubbish!

Skimlinks is a company we've been working with for about a year. Basically when someone on BYC links to Amazon, eBay, etc., the Skimlinks system adds a "referral / affiliate code" to the link so any purchases made at those sites kick a few pennies back to BYC. It shouldn't impact the purchase experience and definitely doesn't impact the price, etc. of the items.

I'll look into why they are doing the popup... it might just be a legality thing for some users or links or something.

Also, we're looking into ways of bypassing skimlinks completely to avoid this altogether.
