Yep it happened all so quickly too! LOLThat's when someone (like me) says, I need 6 chickens but bring 10 home because you can't decide between breeds. Then you build a bunch of infrastructure and decide you want birds for meat. You then order 50 surprise breeds. You get a call that says you are the last in line and you aren't likely to get any this year. You panic and order 25 Freedom Rangers for meat. A week after the 26 FRs arrive. You get another call that your original order shipped and 54 birds are on the way and all of a sudden you have 90 birds. That's chicken math.
Are you familiar with predatory nematodes? I think there are a couple species that are great for ant control.Just a few pics since these quails are very camera shy and I can't seem to catch them for a quick photo shot. This is an image of quail living quarters in the garden area where I have to hang alot of stuff around them to keep a certain Hawk at bay. You'll notice a ceramic skull with air plant sitting on chair to the left of image. A bear head on top of roof between two hutches and flashing CD's to scare predators off. We are still working on making improvements. I cannot put them on ground due to FireAnts and pest control agents. Here in Florida we have to have pest control or we get an influx of bugs that bite and rather large Palmetto Bugs that to me are large Roaches big enough to saddle and ride. lol
