Popular Saying That Originated From Chickens

I think it is funny how animal husbandry opens one's eyes as to where a lot of old sayings come from.

There are a lot having to do with ducks too:
get your ducks in a row
sitting duck
like water off a duck's back
like a duck out of water
. . . . .
 
My granny from West Texas said this one, and remember, it has to be said with a West Texas drawl.She was one tough old lady and there are about a dozen more sayings that I could add here, but cleaning them up kinda kills the impact.

the 4 pullets that are near laying age, sit int he coop with the Broody hen. I picture of a bunch of girls sitting around gabbing!
