Porcelain color

okay then, so where would i be able to get a nice pair or trio of lav. cochins? almost all the ones ive seen for sale have really long tail feathers and dont look much like a cochin at all, theres a few people here in florida that have MF cochins so hopefully those will be a bit easier to find.

Nicely typed lavender cochin seem very hard to find...I'm not quite sure they even exist...LOL! If you find any out of state and want to have them shipped, I'll split shipping with you.

Here is a pic I took at a show of a gorgeous, wonderful example of a Porcelain Silkie (by Pompadour Silkies). She won 1st place.

So sorry Gilda, I got you & April confused. Peeps, this is Gilda's winning Porcelain.

And here is George Mihalik's Porcelain

I think this one is April's? (Brody's Broodello)? I hope I got that one right.

I am pretty sure that Danny is working on lavender in bantam Cochins but not sure how many he has right now. He puts his up on Eggbid every now and then.

Thanks for the nice post Stephanie! I love this little pullet she is very special to me, she was also the best Porcelain at the Northeast Poultry Congress, and the best of all is she is starting to lay so hopefully we'll have more little baby Isobelle's soon. Keep you finger's crossed!

Thanks for correcting the post Stephanie! I was thrilled she won the first time I took her out. Her mother won everytime she went out too. Another fantastic porcelain! A winning mom and now a winning daughter. Thanks again Stephanie for fixing it:)

The silkie porcelain is not the same as other porcelains (i.e. pyncheon). Porcelain Pyncheon are based on mille fleur X self blue (lav). I believe the silkies are based on buff X self blue (lav). Very different genetics involved in these colors with the same name.

Yeppers. No quarrel here. Im not thrilled with the name being labled on them. Its totally not correct! But its been labeled so when in Rome...
