It's a shame that they didn't have a trophy for class champions for the kids. I'm sure Cole would have liked to get something for his birds win, like Brody's 3 that he got for the his' birds group wins.( He has a goal to cover his bedroom wall with plaques, it's almost done finished) Most shows only have a trophy for the larger group champions. I think the kids feel left out sometimes. But we have that covered at the Susquehanna Show for the kids. All the class champions will be getting Medals. I think it is important for the kids to get things for their birds, that is the only way to get them to stay with the hobby. Adults only look at a trophy as a dust collector, I know I have a closet full of them.lol

I completely agree with this, not so much for me (although I do like getting ribbons) but especially for the younger kids. Then they have something to show for their winnings. Unfortunately I can't make it to Bel Air Show because of soccer practice.

By the way April, the blues I got from you have settled in wonderfully here at my home

So sorry you won't be there. Hope you can make it to York. I'm glad they are doing well.

Just for the record, someone sent me a PM saying I was being "snarky", that was not my intention at all. I just was commenting on the disappointment that could easily be seen on the faces of the little ones.

I plan on going to York even if I have to miss soccer practice. York is such a wonderful show and its only an hour away from my house.

I completely agree. Adults, what you did yesterday isn't as important as what your doing today. Kids you bet deserve something for their efforts and to boost their future interest. Shows should look at kids completely different and Im glad Susquehanna thinks so too.

Well, hello, Gilda! It looks like we have more in common than love of Seramas! This is the love of my life, Phyllis. She is going to act as my conversation starter at shows this year. She doesn't have much lavender, just a bit of dusty pewter in her crest, but she is the wearer of super interesting stripey-watermarked wing feathers. It's not barred, but kinda woodgrained.

And this pic was my neices' idea -- an example of how good my Phylly is to me!

Liz!
Love that little bird. Oh I'd love to see Phyllis at a show!!! I love that pic on the bottom. Too funny. It would be nothing for a serama to do that but a silkie... Now thats a great feat!
What shows are you going to? Maybe I'll be able to meet your little fluffy in person.

Not to get off subject, but are you going to Delaware next year for the second round of whites?

I don't know what you mean. I don't have any whites, so I haven't been following their progress. If I can get a hold of a couple, while still keeping my numbers reasonable, I'd be so in. I'll have to talk to Edward next month.

Gilda, nice to see you here. I posted a pic of the lovely hen I'll be purchasing from you next weekend on another thread... hope you don't mind. Im excited about Susquehanna. Im hoping the weather will be decent

Liz. 2011 is the second round for getting whites approved to the ABA. I don't have um either. Im gonna try like the dickens to have them though. even if I use spray paint:) There's a post about it on the serama forum:)
