Mine are both extremely flighty. I would have to say the most flighty birds I have. They don't like being held. They're timid. They aren't aggressive at all, just scared.Everyone says they are so sweet and friendly....my three have been the complete oppositeabsolutely gorgeous but the hen is flighty and horribly nervous and attacks other chickens, and my two roos are people and chicken aggressive they only get along with each other.![]()

I'm having the same issue. The dirty feather feet, but only on the two chickens that are this breed. I have all sorts of breeds, including Cochins that do not have dirty feet....hmm....did you find a solution? So I have 6 porcelins all seem to be shy except 1. Daisy loves to be on my hand or shoulder and will allow.me to take her picture. I'm trying to figure out how to keep there feet clean and minimalize the fly's in the bantum coop. Southern GA is so hot and humid in the summer you can hardly breathe sometimes. I have found that the lavender scented car fragrance trees do a great job keeping down the flys. Their coop floor is dirt with bedding on it to try to keep there feet cleaner but a soon as I put fresh bedding down the chickens scratch it out. In two days or so we are back to dirt. Can't really put concrete down just not practical. Two many bugs to put wood down. They would hide under it. Any other suggestions?
I bought these porcelain bantams from Murray McMurray hatcheries. They are 25 weeks old. One of them is laying. I don't know which one though. One has long blue feathers all the way down its neck. The other one doesn't. They are Porcelain bantams.View attachment 1169648 View attachment 1169650 View attachment 1169649
Does your hen have long blue feathers down her neck? I'm trying to figure out if one is a rooster. Do you have a picture of your girl? You have Beautiful birds, I have a porcelain booted bantam hen that looks just like yours, She was sold to me as a Porcelain D'uccle, but never developed the muff (poofy face as my daughter calls it) She is possibly the sweetest chicken I have ever owned, but she was also really flighty for a few months as a teenager in her goofy looking stage...
The only way I knew she was getting ready to start laying was that she was doing the submissive squat for me every time I came near her ... and a few weeks later... poof, egg in the enclosure.
The long neck feathers are throwing me by this time the cockerals show the longer tail and saddle feathers. They would also be crowing by now. Girls shouldn't have that long of neck feathers.but if nothing is shouting roo it's a pullet.Does your hen have long blue feathers down her neck? I'm trying to figure out if one is a rooster. Thank you Sue. It is the strangest thing. I have 2 porcelain, 3 Buff Brahmas, one game, and 5 EES that I ordered from Murray McMurray all at the same time. I lost 5 in travel and the first 2days. None of the eleven that lived are crowing. Only 6 are laying. Surely there is one rooster out of eleven. Your porcelains look like mine. They are lovely. Is the middle one in the bottom picture a porcelain rooster? Neither of mine look like him.
