Porcelain Silkie Thread

I bought two chicks that were a grayish color. I was told they are porcelain chicks. Their feathers have grown in and are all white.any ideas as to why there are no buff colored feathers?

Looks like they were silver-gened white. The chicks start out as grey. They are desirable for whites though :)

I have a grown unrelated white rooster that has a yellowish cast to his white. These chicks are a much prettier white. Thanks for your reply.

So if you have a Porcelain Roo what do you breed color hens do you use??? Can you use Buff or Blue or does it have to be lavender or porcelain Hens to keep up producing Porcelain????

I don't know if this thread is dead or not but I thought I'd give it a try. I have a few genetic questions. First of all if you breed two porcelains will get porcelain offspring? Also, what would you get if you bred a lavender to a porcelain?

Also hoping to get some advice..is this a porcelain chick?? It popped up out of a black hen and paint roo, but starting to think my white roo snuck in.. regardless, I have no clue what color and porcelain looked closest when i did a search....

Porcelain to porcelain. A majority of porcelains end up with too much buff. The correct percentage is 60% lavender and 40% buff, so don't use buff. And don't use blue. That will really mess things up.
