Porcelain without the lavender? PIX added

NellaBean is that the little girl you had here last weekend? She sure is a pretty little thing.

BTW to update you on my trio I bought from you...

The little Cockerel is now named "Spike"...he thinks he is THE MAN adorable boy

The blue banded girl is now named "Blossom" and the neon yellow banded girl is now named "Rose"

They are not as friendly as he is...he just loves to sit in my palm and get petted the girls are less fond of such attention. LOL

DH comes back home in another week and I can finally upload pics of everyone for you. Thank you so much for these wonderful little Porcelains...they are loved family members already.

By the way...when were they hatched? Are they hatchery stock or your stock?

PS: How is the little mottled boy? I was so sad to hear what happened to him from Sarah...poor little guy. Dang those pet sitters!

No, I kept this girl home since she is "oddly" colored I figured I would keep her

Actually I had planned originally on keeping her and Mr Blue Band since he was the "bluest" of the boys and might help to even out the coloring in their offspring.

Glad you are enjoying your trio! When I was handling the girls today for pictures, I realized just how nice they are. Once you have your hands on them, they are just fine with it and don't even freak out.

I'm taking all the "leftover" pairs to a local swap here August 7th. Will be keeping 1 boy and 3-4 girls for myself

They are hatchery stock.....from Tractor Supply chick days. Mine are supplied by Estes Hatchery. I bought them in March as day olds, I believe. If the yellow banded one appears younger, she may be 2-3 weeks younger as I bought a few different "batches".....I bought 17 porcelain total. 1 died same day, the rest turned into 6 boys and 10 girls. I haven't been able to find any show OR breeder quality porcelains, they are a color that needs some breeding work.

My mottled cochin boy is doing okay. He is back to being evil and fiesty but has little to no vision....they are still very swollen so its hard to say. He has his own private mini "breeding coop" waiting for him if he recovers enough....if he is too handicapped, he will go back to his previous owner who has a better setup. He is a little jerk but hilarious and likeable. I'm sure he started the fight that whooped his butt.....he did the same thing with his previous owner......and has picked fights at my place before but never taken them very far. One of my new roosters is pretty spry and is already halfway up the totem pole, so pretty sure he was the "culprit".

I can't blame my petsitter too much as I have a lot of pens and it can be a bit confusing. I will padlock his pen from now on if I go out of town.....Also plan on making little clip on signs "do not open this pen" and "please open this pen for daytime", etc. She only charges me $18 a visit to take care of my 4 dogs, 1 cat who needs special food and medication, plus the chicken stuff.

Okay..March I was thinking May but was confused at how well he was crowing....March makes more sense.

I think I am going to enjoy working on a Porcelain project because I really like these guys and they are so beautiful. Spike has a lot of lavender on his neck and I really like it, may not be to any standard but he is a keeper.

I hope you are successful at the August swap...If I had my coops finished and etc, I would get more from you for sure. Maybe later in the year.

Silly mottled boy...I sure hope he mends well. He was the one Spike was fighting with through the divider and he did start it. He ran at the divider and provoked Spike. We are talking about the bantam boy yes?

Sounds like a good deal on the Petsitter for sure. The tags sound like a fabulous idea!

I sure wish Hera would give me a yes or no on being bantam or standard...I would take that dark mille project cochin boy for her in a heartbeat. I think he and her being a buff would make some beautiful babies.

No, this a different mottled guy.......although the one at the swap is a little booger too. Must be something about the color LOL.

The one injured in the fight is older and has less mottling but is breeder/show quality. Big ol ball of fluff.

I was going to sell the other mottled boy I had at the swap, but am keeping him for now, just in case Mr Mottled doesn't recover. I have some great mottled girls just waiting for an awesome rooster.

How big is Hera these days? And how old? I have both bantam and large fowl silver laced cochins that are close to the same age so they are a good size comparison. Take a pic next to a coke can, and I will do the same with mine to compare. LOL.

I expect the mille boys to sell pretty easily once I get them out and about. I was going to keep 2 but I need more boys like I need a hole in my head, so probably will sell all 4 of the "teenagers" and just keep my older guy.

Oh okay...he is gorgeous! Must be the color because the other one was fiesty too!

Hera was born hatched April and she is about the size of the mottle boy you brought to the swap...not as wide of course but...

The other mottled guy is a little booger too. I was trying to get pix of all the mille boys today and here he is...

My silver laced cochin large fowl boys are huge compared to the little mottled guy. They are a few weeks older...maybe a late march or early april hatch, I can't remember.

The little mottled guy is a March hatch. I have 2 mottled girls the same age
