Yes, Lavender crosses are almost always black. The generation after you start getting other colors.

So I should breed the black hen back to the lavendar too?

The sultan/lavendar oegb chicks turned out all black. But they are beautiful. Is that to be expected with a white/lavendar cross? Thanks

Lavender is a recessive gene, so first generation color crosses won’t show lavender.

So I should breed the black hen back to the lavendar too?

If you want more lavenders, yes.
