Be sure to give them time past day 21...I have had some that I thought wouldn't hattch and they did...just a couple days late! Good luck!

Oh, I just had to help one of the chicks, it pipped on the small end if the egg at like 10 last night, I left it alone, now it is 14 hours later on day 21, but I don't think it can zip. As it is in the wrong end if the egg. When should I further help it hatch?

I don't know much abot assisted hatching other than what I have read. You can post a HELP thread on emergencies thread and if you search in the info section, they have stage by stage steps. I do know...GO SLOW......make sure there are no veins where you remove or they will bleed..only 30 min at a time out of the incubator to assist...then back in for 2 hours before you "help" again. Only release the wing/head/upper body. Chick will separate from the egg on its own, as you do not want to tear away the umbilical cord and want to make sure the yolk sack is fully absorbed! The chick is out, but very weak! I followed your instructions. He did push himself out of the egg once his head was freed. Oh, well I hope he makes it!

I had to help one of my shipped eggs hatch yesterday too Byram, the chick was weak compared to the other but after awhile it perked up and is fine now. The one I didn't help after it pipped in the right place ended up dying. Shipped eggs are a gamble definety. Started with 24 eggs , 11 made it to lockdown, three have hatched, two are living and I have eight in the incubator day 21 today. I hope more hatch today!

YAY...glad to hear your chick is out!!! Hatching is exhausting work so hopefully once your little one rests up, it will be fine! Post a pic if you get a chance....so great to see little fluffy bundles of cuteness
