My chicken has a possible broken bone or something in the pelvic area. She is not able to walk very well at all her balance is not good. While giving her a soak today I noticed this on her tail area. This Sunday will be two weeks since it first started with her limping then going to not hardly walking. She is still very alert and eating and drinking when I give it to her. But my question is will she get better and be able to walk again or should I put her down?

It’s not her preen gland. I know where that is. This is at the base of her tail on the right side

You are asking us to be clairvoyant as no one can make a diagnosis from a two dimensional photo of a bump amidst feathers. So we can't possibly even guess if she will get better. And only you can make the decision whether it's best to euthanize her.

When I have a sick or injured chicken, I consider euthanizing when the chicken continues to get worse in spite of trying everything I know to help them. As long a my chicken patient is showing signs of steady improvement, I continue to treat.

I hope that helps.
