Possible broken leg! Advice needed

Is your wrap too tight? You needs lots of padding under that type of wrap. This video is about wrapping horses legs, but I think it also applies to other animals

Bottom line, you must have padding under the vet wrap or there is a very good chance you will cause permanent damage to the leg.

Thank you, I loosened it a bit just in case, but I'll double check to make sure there's enough padding underneath.

We removed 2Toes' stitches today, her wounds are healing well and the bruising is going away. She still has a bum leg, but we padded it a little more and loosened the VetTape a bit. She is able to move it around a little and the redness and swelling in her foot has gone down considerably. Here's a pic of her chilling in the infirmary

Here's a new thing...she's started eating the pine shavings that we line her cage with. Any ideas what that's about?! She has had constant access to her regular feed, and we've offered her calcium and a little grit as normal, and I've also been giving her egg yolk to help her heal. She's drinking water as normal. Has anyone seen this behavior before?

Update on Two Toes: it has been almost 3 weeks since our girl was attacked by the neighbor's dog. We have kept her leg splinted, but she really hadn't shown any improvement until yesterday. She wasn't in any visible pain or stressed, but she wasn't moving the leg much or the toes at all! Yesterday she moved her toes for the first time since the attack, and actually bore some weight on the leg flat-footed instead of with her toes all curled up underneath her! I am so relieved as up until now I suspected she might have nerve damage! She still has a puncture wound that is healing-getting smaller but the edges aren't closed yet. Not infection- I'm keeping it very clean. The feathers on her back are starting to grow back, and She also started laying again this morning! Normal, firm shelled eggs! It was a beautiful sight! I think she might actually pull through without lasting damage as long as her leg continues to improve. Here's a pic of her enjoying the sun and grass outside of the chicken infirmary and with what's left of her wounds.
