Help please. One of my chickens is weak and she doesn't want to walk but will occassionally when we disturb her. She sounds hoarse when she squacks. Her comb and face area where it should be red is almost white. Her vent is not irritated but her poop is some what watery. She just ate a little bit. We brought her in house away from other chickens. We have only had them for about a month. They are 3 months old. Just went took pictures of another bird that has a growth above its eye and its face has more red than the others. I have 10 altogether. i called and the vet is not in. Do you have any idea what it might be. I looked up chicken diseases and the only one that mentioned tumors is Mareks Disease. pic #1. Sick chicken, comb is almost totally white, does not have a tumor #2 &3 chicken with tumor but does not appear sick and is the largest bird in the flock #4. Normal looking chicken. Do you have any suggestoins as to what to do? I am giving her silver and food and water from a syringe. Giving her an epsom salts bath and may ive oral epsom salts to remove toxins, but she is so weak i am concerned it will be too much for her. We cleaned the coop out and sprayed with clorox from top to bottom and let it dry thuroughly before letting the hens back in. I called the man We bought them from and he said he never has any trouble like this.

How old are they? I would try to get her eating some chicken feed and moisten it with water, and electrolytes or a little sugar water may help. Most chickens like scrambled egg or tuna in small amounts. What does the chicken look like when she walks? Is she putting weight on both legs and limping, or is she holding a leg up? Mareks disease virus can cause tumors, and lameness in chickens. I have seen cysts on birds who did not have Mareks. The best way to know if you are seeing Mareks is to get a vet to perform a necropsy if you lose her. They can test for Mareks. Most pullets can have pale combs before they start to lay eggs, but I would also look for mites on the skin, just in case. What is your location?

3 months, not walking. Giving her silver, and wetting food, feeding from a syringe with molasses and food slurry. not mites will put pressure on both legs if held up, lays as if not able to hold head up.
