possible cocci, advice appreciated

Found a bloody poop on my porch a couple of days ago. futher investigation showed an area about 4 inches around (irregular edges) under the perch with blood on the shavings. Coop houses 8 15 week olds and 8 younger girls. none of the chickens are acting poorly. Found a couple of more suspicious poops on the deck since then. Girls free range, raised on medicated starter, recently switched to grower pellets. They all love snacks. I may have done a bad thing and given them some leftover deli ham a week ago (they loved it but I realize it's not the healthiest snack!) So, I went to the feed store and got sulmet and started the flock on it. Does this sound like possible cocci? Could it have been the deli ham? Have I done the right thing for starters? All chickens acting healthy, what should my next step be? Thanks in advance!!!!!

I'd take a sample to the vet for a float. Make sure they will treat the entire flock without you having to bring the entire flock in. No... I'm not joking. I had a vet's office tell me that.

I had one chick that had some bloody poops. I did a fecal and found nothing abnormal. The chick never acted ill and the bloody poops stopped in a couple of days. That was a month ago and she's still going strong. I suspect she ate something sharp, like a tidbit of glass. The folks who lived on this property before us were big time litter bugs.

I don't know if it is/was cocci or maybe a chicken straining at her first egg (no eggs for my girls yet, about 16 weeks old) At any rate, I got the sulmet, added it to their water. no further problems. maybe just a fluke. I don't think the treatment will harm them. They are all still acting fine and happy.
