can anyone confirm if these droppings indicate coccidia? I bought some Corid just in case, but I’ve never had an outbreak before so I’m not sure what I’m looking at. Noticed solid droppings with blood strands 24hrs ago, then watery droppings with blood and mucus. Here are the droppings as of this morning. The affected chicken is also pictured. Thanks in advance!

Is your chicken hunched over? Is she eating?

Looks like intestinal shed to me. If she is otherwise acting normal I would not treat.

Yes she’s eating a little. She is hunched over and has her feathers ruffled out.

OK. Corid is a good treatment to use, and has very few side effects, even if she doesn’t actually have coccidiosis. How old is she? It usually occurs in young chickens

She was hatched in June, so around 5 months.

Its definitely possible she could have it, then
There are 9 strains of Coccidia that affect poultry. Only 2 of those strains present with blood in the poop.

Yes, i'm sorry, I probably should have said that. From what i can see, though, the strain that causes bloody poop is the quite common in chickens. I could be wrong, though.
