This little cutie looks like an Easter Egger. It will likely be a light Partridge type pattern. The fun part about EE chicks is you never quite know how they’re going to turn out. They come in so many lovely colors and patterns.

I agree with the first poster since many places sell EE as Ameraucana. The hatchery supplying them usually states they are not for show and only "represent" the breed, sometimes but not always misspelling it. Middle man sellers like feed stores are most often oblivious to this.

Most breeders will sell them as the color they are not simply Ameraucana. Even hatcheries that sell true Ameraucana usually sell them as black, blue, lavender, etc.

I also agree that the different patterns is part of what makes them super fun.. I LOVE EE!

Ya, I mostly call them Easter Egger. It was kinda hilarious that the girl at TSC said very strongly that they are AMERICAUNA. I'm like ummm ok if you say so. I'm hoping it looks more like the bottom white/black/barred looking one, because I already have two that are partridge. One very goldenish, and one darker brown.

Betty is the EE on the left and Felicia is the brown partridge EE on the right between the Barred Rock and the Crested Cream Legbar.

Just for posterity the Barred Rock in the center is The Baroness. She's my lady in charge and my favorite. Ha! She also happens to be my avatar
