I think my flock has fowl pox but
700

I'm not sure. Mosquitos have been bad this year. My roosters have had black scabs on their combs and wattles but they appear to be healing fine. A few hens now have scabs above their eyes but I've been keeping an eye on them. Today I noticed that one got a lot worse. She has foam in her left eye. I'm very worried and have no clue what to do to help her.. most info says it will go away on it's own. The pic is the hen im concerned about. Please help.

Yes that looks like fowl pox. I would probably get some eye wash or saline, and clean her eyes, then apply some Terramycin eye ointment (from a feed store--you have to ask for it) or some plain Neosporin or Triple antibiotic ointment once or twice a day. Vetricyn is also a brand of eye gel that can be used to treat the eyes. I would check the throats of any that show any breathing problem or refuse to eat because wet pox can cause yellow patches inside the beak and throat, and it can block the airway. It also is painful to eat. Here are a couple of links to read about pox:

I agree with Eggcessive. Your hen probably scratched her eye causing infection due to irritation from a nodule. One of the products Eggcessive mentioned should take care of it. Continue treatment until foamy eye completely disappears.

My flock has fowl pox also. Are we able to eat them or should we just put them out of their misery? Please help!
Fowl pox eventually goes away on its own in about a month, more or less. Your birds will be immune to that particular strain thereafter. Fowl pox isnt transmittable to humans. It's your choice whether you want to eat them or not. Eggs are safe to eat.
