Possible frostbite? Pictures added on first page!!

Not frostbite, not the pox. Frostbite works it's way from the tips inward. If it were fowl pox, there would likely be more birds involved.

Most likely pecking. All the birds are a little more cranky right now - short days, bored in the coop and molting can all lead to this.


Please folks, don't leap to conclusions just because you read it in one or two places.

We have had several day below zero here and a couple days at -20 . one of our hens got minor frost bite on her comb. I started opening up the ventilation during the day to help dry the air inside the coop and just leave the upper vents open at night. It seems to have helped alot, we have had no more problems!
