Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

Gutted about the chicks. My dog got 2 out of the brooder and there was little evidence until I found half a fuzzy bum in our bedroom.

Later on that day I also found what appeared to be a tiny kidney on the setee.... Blech!

I have terrible news... We found some "evidence". It looks like the cat/dog got them. Of the ones left, a few of them still look like they're in shock. I don't know if they've been injured. One is doing just fine, at least...

i find those outside all the time from the cats and mice. they always leave that part. i wonder if its the gall bladder? it does look like a little kidney.

So had the strangest thing happened. 12 little chukars hatched without a hitch over the course of a couple days.
The last evening I'm taking the duds out and out of paranoia I'm candling them and listening to them. The very last one I hear this faint peck......peck..... peck.... Like "Horton hears a Who".
Again out of paranoia I put them back!
This morning around 1:30 it hatched out. Days later!! Can't imagine what took it so long.
This particular incubator has a fan so the temp is even throughout.
Just a late bloomer I guess.
