According to the step by step guide, he should be ready to come out when the membrane is a very pale pink. His membrane is still very dark, and has a very large, visible vein on it. He's still got some absorbing to do.

Sorry! The best lighting in my house is the bathroom, but I'd hate to cart the little guy all over the place. Trust me, he looks just like the chick labeled "not ready" in the guide. He's breathing well, and I even caught him yawning once.

Granny, you could be right! All of the other eggs have shown great development, so I find it hard to believe that they didn't make it. I think he could just be an early guinea.

Chukar - The eggs hatch in about 23–25 days.

Guinea fowl - The incubation period is 26–28 days
