Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

The other chicks are fine. I only have the one brooder, so I figured I'd make Moose his own. Guess I'll have to think of a new plan.

He wasn't too little until I introduced Pip to the lot. She pecked him in the eye once, and then all the others followed suit. I wouldn't have thought much of it if he was their size, but he's so little compared to them. I didn't want him getting hurt, so I had to separate him.

They would probably get too warm. I think he'll be okay in the incubator until I can set up something more permanent tomorrow.

I'm really glad little Moose is doing a bit better!

RANT TIME!!!! That "guy", I say guy in parentheses because there are A LOT better descriptions I SHOULD use that had those goats was..... can't finish this sentence without getting in trouble.

First of all he neglected to mention these animals were at a Livestock auction barn and that he buys and resells them, not breeds them, until a 1 1/2 hour drive and we pull up to the address. He gives us directions to the barn and a name of who to ask for without even accompanying us. We drive there and are led to a pen with goats in it by a guy who expressly says he has no idea what's what and no experience with goats. I am already getting pretty ticked. Guy won't even come down the 1 mile still. None of them looked like purebred anything (but a sheep) and there sure as heck weren't fainting goats. At the edge of the pen something catches my eye and I start to move closer. The "helper" is like "Ma'm don't go that way. Stop. We don't go over there..." I was NOT listening. I got close enough to confirm that there was a DEAD goat just laying there. The guy claimed to have not known that was there (why all of the STOPS! then?) And said it was probably old age. That was not an old goat. My in-laws have goats and I know an old goat. I immediately tell my husband "We are NOT buying any goats here. We are leaving." All of a sudden he's pointing out purebred goats left and right. This same guy who out of the gate "Knew absolutely nothing about goats or breeds".

So now I wasted a good Sunday and have a disappointed 3 year old. I don't care how much I have to spend, I am getting HEALTHY well bred, tame goats. I WILL find a fainting nanny. Both me and my daughter were really excited about that even though it wasn't in the original plan.

Checked on Moose again, and he's back to laying around. The increase in temperature seemed to have perked him up, but only for a few hours. His incubator has been kept nice and clean, and he's always got fresh food and water. I've been prying his beak open and giving him sugar water every half hour or so, but he just won't get up.
