Heard peeping near the incubator this morning! Scared the mess out of me. I thought my babies were early. Turns out there's a nest under my window. I have a nice view of pink, squishy robin chicks now.

I love robins. Every time I see one they seem to be inquisitive and curious. So cute.

I've got a quail that's hurt her wing! Kinda looks like a snapped feather. It's sort of on the very end of where the skin bit is. I've stuck her in a box on her own with a blanket over. Stupid birds! I put a couple of bricks in the box to make a hidey place and one has already injured themselves!

Is it a blood feather? If it is you need to pull it out. If it isn't you can just cut off the part where the feather broke

I dunno. Looked in on her before I came to bed and she was fine, so popped her back in with the others. What's the difference between a blood feather and a regular feather?

A blood feather (also called pin feathers) is still growing and will bleed when broken. This can cause the bird to bleed to death. I would take a close look at the break and see if there is any blood visible.

Granny, I'm pretty sure we're in the same time zone. School just makes me so beat when I get home. I get sick of looking at my laptop screen all day in school, so I tend to do other things when I'm at home. Since it's lockdown weekend, I'll be popping in a lot more often to give you guys updates.
