Possible Guinea Eggs in "Quail" Batch?

Millet for a bird with a parrot-like beak is like crack. They just love the feel/texture of cracking them open and eating them. Finches don't have a hook bill like that.

Oh and...I HAVE A PIP!

Yes, my first try! If you don't count the infertile eggs, I had 11 out of 14 make it to lockdown. Two blood rings and 1 egg got cracked after setting and I didn't seal the egg, so it got shrink wrapped on day 12 or 13 died.

That's not too bad. I have two on lockdown right now. They should pop out either tomorrow or tuesday.

cheyan, we put them in at the same time. well, i didnt put them in, my chicken was broody. one hatched yesterday, 3 to go. all mutts

still just the one. i am surprised it made it through the night. its a whopping 15 out there. i guess she kept it pretty warm. i know this dry air is stopping them from hatching. all the water was frozen this morning. i took the heaters out a week ago. if i put a sponge in there it would freeze too. i am really not up for running the bator though. my mother is sick. more dr.s today. i have another hen on one egg and another on ?? they thought it was spring. lol lost one of the new ee last night.
