I am trying to figure out how I can tell if my chicken (silver laced Wyandotte) has a liver problem. I had a mobile vet come out and she said she 'thinks' it's the liver but can't be sure. Her skin is realllllly yellow and her 'ears and lobes' look pretty yellow as well. Her tail feathers are down and she looks as if she is molting (which she is not). She is still eating and drinking fine. Shakes her head a lot also.
Help! Any suggestions?

Is there white or urates in her droppings a yellow shade or white? You may want to do some research on fatty liver hemorrhagic disease. There can also be liver problems from internal laying or egg yolk peritonitis. Ascites or fluid gathering in the lower belly can be a symptom of liver disease. Does your hen have any tight swelling in her belly?

She has diarrhea. It's pretty white/yellowish on her backend. I didn't notice any swelling when I picked her up. But I will go check again
