Possible mushy chick??

I'm a first time hatcher. 10 came out perfect. 4 more to go, but I have two the are very lethargic laying sprawled out. Big swollen belly. I don't know what to do with it. Also, If I have to stop it's suffering how should i?

Pictures can help. That does sound like mushy chick disease. It comes from bacteria in the incubator. They usually die within days. SallySunshine has a good article about it with pictures if you do a search for it. There are also several good threads about euthanizing chicks. Sorry about your chicks.

Ugh... I'd never heard of mushy chick before. That sounds awful.

Give them time, not all big bellied chicks are "mushy". I have found that if they poop that they usually live.
