If you want to learn more and you are not too squeamish about such things, it can be very interesting and often beneficial to cut them open and see what the problem was. Sometimes it can be comforting to know that there was nothing you could have done to save her, like when they are internally laying or have tumours etc but occasionally you find something that tells you that a dietary change may be beneficial for the whole flock or a deworming program might be necessary. It is surprising how much a lay person can learn just through such examinations. If you decide to do this, it can be helpful to take photos of all the basic organs and anything unusual you find and post them here on BYC. There are some threads specifically started to share such photos and discuss possible causes. I can post a link to one if you are interested. It also helps to have a basic knowledge of chicken anatomy, so that you know what you are looking at...

Of course you can always send her refrigerated body off for a professional necropsy but that often costs money and it is the time of year when people are a bit low on funds.....
