Possible Roo? Or too early to tell?

I have 10 chicks. They are a couple days older than 7 weeks now. This one seems to have a large/red comb & its feathers are kind-of greenish towards its bottom? There is another of the same breed (Wyandottes) in this picture for comparison. I feel it’s pretty evident which is which (Lol).

It is looking like it is possibly a cockerel. A couple more weeks and you should be able to tell for sure.

I'm leaning cockerel but a little more time and you will know for sure.
Also, none of the birds pictured are Wyandottes.

That’s funny because I knew they didn’t appear to look like any Wyandottes I had ever seen! That is just what the hatchery labeled them as! Do you know what they could be?

I was thinking that as well. The possible-roo has a green sheen to all its feathers. I think Australorps also have that look. Hence my name, I am very new to chickens so I’m not sure. I have obviously done my research on the chicken breeds I do have & I realized that my 3 “wyandottes” don’t look like the pictures. But then I googled “solid black wyandottes” & thought maybe it was possible. I have no idea though, honestly. I may make a post in another forum to identify the breed as well

Some Australorp chicks have the white chin like your possible boy does. Look up "7 week old Australorp chicks"

I wouldn’t count your chick out of being a pullet just yet. Sure the comb is a bit big but it isn’t red nor does it have prominent wattles. I would certainly wait a while longer to be more sure

It’s not just the feather color that makes them not Wyandottes. It’s mostly the comb type - Wyandottes have a totally different comb type.

Wyandottes’ rose comb gene sometimes throws a single comb. So a purebred single comb wyandotte is actually quite common!
