Does this look like a roo? He is definitely dominant acting...
I've never owned this breed but to me the big legs and larger comb make it look like a boy. I may be wrong, this is just a guess.
I can't tell from just this picture - what breed is it and how many weeks? But I can say from my experience that every one of the chicks I had that started off acting dominant - 'play' fighting with the other chicks, jumping on top of them, dancing around them, ended up being roos. Even one that was so tiny I thought for sure he'd be a hen…nope, a roo.
Hope this helps!
Looks like it's meant to be a SLW - how old is it? If under 16 weeks I'd definitely be leaning cockerel
Roo is it breeder stock or hatchery just wondering
He is a 9 week old silver laced Wyandotte. I got my fertilized eggs from a local breeder.
He is beautiful he has a great comb are you going to use him as breeding stock!!
No breeding for me... I have 12 total, all different breeds and they are very much (very spoiled) pets. Sadly, I will be finding him a new home.
OK just wondering
Looks like a cockerel to me.
