Possible sinus infection or more ?

Wyorp Rock, yes she is drinking. I'll try the boiled egg this afternoon. Can I feed it to her warm or does the egg need to cool down in the fridge first ?
I'll go to the produce store and see if I can buy grit only. I've only ever seen shell grit, but it's full of calcium and I don't think she wants any more calcium, so she maybe missing out on the grit because of this ?

I wouldn't know how to tell if her crop is emptying sorry :(

My vet is not a specialist in birds or poultry, but I am in the country so I would assume they see more chickens out here than they would in the city.
But no, she doesn't know what my chicken has.
You would need to cool it down some so she doesn't burn her tongue

If you don't fine poultry grit, you can give her some dirt or sand that she would normally consume out in the chicken yard . For some reason I missed that you were in AU.

I've given you a link below about crops - it illustrates what a crop should "look like" and how to feel of it:

Kathy @casportpony do you have a better reference on feeling/examining a crop?

Thanks Wyorp Rock!

She was so much better this afternoon ! Running around and eating everything she could !! :D

I have been to the vet and the wormer they gave me is a liquid to be fed by syringe (without the needle), so I will start this tomorrow.

The vet said that they will then start pooping out lots of worms ...

It sounds like she is improving!

I'm glad your vet is able to help you with your chickens. Please keep us posted.

Just wondering, does anyone know how long it takes for the swelling of the sinus to go down ?
Her eye is still watery too.

Also, I wormed them yesterday afternoon and I have checked as many poops as possible and I can't see any worms in them ?
Shouldn't there be worms ?

Do you know the name wormer the vet gave you?

Sinus swelling can take a little while to go down - do you see any pus in the eye? Sometimes the pus needs to be expressed in order for it to start healing - if you have photos that would be great.

So the wormer I was given is called Ausmectin Drench.
The vet said it has exactly the same ingredients as the wormer which has the chicken label on it.

There isn't any puss in her eye as I don't believe it ever got to the stage of infection, just liquid in her eye and swollen.
I have looked at it closely today and it hasn't gone down.
If anything, the swelling has increased. Her eye is still watering and there is a small white patch on the swollen part.
Will this go down eventually ?

I will try and get a photo tomorrow, but she moves her head so fast !

You may need to get some meds from the vet to go in the eye. Here's more info:

I have photos and I just saw that post after I posted last night. Thanks Wyorp Rock !

I'm going to ring the vet as soon as they're open to see what to do next. I'm not sure if we have those drops in Australia, but I will ask the vet too !

Please excuse her messy face as she is having porridge for breakfast :D

Swollen eye:

Good eye:
