A chick hatched out last night around 11pm very weak. This morning it was still laying about, looking alert but unable to walk because one of it's legs is sticking out behind it. Its not really trying to walk and can curl the leg up under itself but I haven't seen it put any pressure on it, it sort of flops around just a little, not frantically like the others did. It seems tired but not really sickly. Is this a splayed leg? The incubator has a wire mesh floor so its not slippery (& the chick hasn't really "stood") It had a difficult hatch with more blood than I've seen, but otherwise seems bodily healthy except for the leg. I saw a post about using a hairtie to sort of pull the legs together, I'm going to try it but I'm at work now. Any input or suggestions would be VERY appreciated. Thanks
