I've watched them closely. Today was the first I've ever seen my other hens behaving poorly towards her. I have eight adult birds that share the larger coop. They have a feeder in the coop, and a daily feeder outside of it. Four bantam Cochins, one Brahma, another EE, and an old Welsummer. I have not witnessed any food related bullying, but she is definitely not eating enough. I'm not sure if this is due to her neck injury (from the now dispatched rooster) or if there is something else internal going on. The neck twitching thing this morning freaked me out.I would try to rule out a crop disorder. Some hens may be kept from the feeders by other chickens. It can be hard to know exactly without lab work, and sometimes we don’t know exactly what is going on until it is too late.
