Hi Kikidee and Baylor
I am keeping tabs on the original thread by Kikidee and am saddened to hear of the demise of even more of our feathered friends - none of us are alone in our sadness - BYC is here for us and we all have many friends who offer support and advice for our future(s) when the inevitable happens
kikidee - I have to say that I am so pleased that you are still here on BYC with us all - I look forward to the day that you tell us all that you have new ducklings and I want to hear your stories of the new experiences that you will share with your feathered friends!
Baylor - I read your story and am so sorry to hear of your losses - you have a bond with Kikidee and all of us who care - be it losses through predators or through natural losses -
All I can say is that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all..... your lives are enriched for having had such a bond - with humans or animals - it is (for me) the same - heartache comes with giving and also receiving!
I too have had my fair share of losses - for me I could name so many but Boss - An Honourable Death ( if you get time to read it here on BYC) was for me the worst by far - he was my leader Goose, I have lost so many now through illness, predators and natural causes that at times I have felt lost... BUT in time focus decrees that we must go forward for the sake of othres and for our sanity....
Bless you both - look towards the future.... Kikidee - you will make a great Mum (Mom) in the future to some VERY lucky ducklings!
Thank you both for sharing your very sad experiences with us all.
Suzie
