Possibly Niacin Deficiency

I had recently received four Aconda ducks from a local farmer. One of them was smaller and in bad shape. It seemed to be walking fine with I acquired it, and the farmers adult ducks had plucked most of its feathers. Fast forward a few weeks and the little guy has a hard time walking, spends most time laying down. I have been administering a vitamin B complex orally for the past few days but the only improvement I have seen is the duck is now more lively. I have also began to feed a duckling and gosling grower that has Niacin. I have attached some pictures. I am looking for some direction to make sure I am doing the right treatment. I have gave a physical exam, and everything seems in place and nothing feels broken.

The picture with the multiple ducks I included was the picture the farmer had taken, and the duck in question is the small one to the left

Thank you in advance.

You need to keep up with the b complex it can take some time to correct leg issues weakness ect. give 1 ml daily. it can be given by mouth just be extremely careful not to aspirate it, or put it over a small amount of treat so you know it is getting full dose.
Beautiful ducks this little one just has gotten off to a bad start. Hopefully, now that it is being cared for properly it will begin to thrive. 🙏 Don't worry about over dosing with the b complex what the body doesn't use they will pee out.

Good afternoon y'all.

I am giving an update on my little duck. I was giving him medicine orally for about a month, and with very little improvement I moved him outside with the three other hens. He gets along well with them, but his leg is still bent, and he has troubles walking and getting out of the swimming pool. Also when he stands he is constantly shifting his weight and doing a little bob. I have been giving brewers yeast since I moved him outside.

Any suggestions?

I was giving liquid b complex. And was giving about 2 ml a day. Well trying to give 1 ml of a morning and one of an evening, but we spilt a lot so I would say he got about 1 ml a day.

Can you post a video of the duckling walking? this could be a birth defect just hard to know but seeing the little one walking may give us a better understanding of what is going on with him.

If it is a nutrient deficiency it may just take longer for the B complex to work if he had this even before you brought him home. I would continue the b complex just put it over a treat just for him/her. so your sure he is getting full 1ml dose.

I would be inclined to say that he probably got over 1 ml a day. I might separate him for meal time and do just that.

The link below is of a video of the duck walking.
