Possibly taking dog on trip, any advice?

I wouldn't be a bad idea to have her gone over by your vet before you leave, and have those papers and his contact info handy...plus registration and copies of rabies and such. I have traveled extensively with my dogs, and never had any trouble, but you never know what could happen these days.
I even went through Canada to Niagra Falls with my dogs. It was incredible! I think she'll be fine, and everybody mentioned alot of good stuff to remember. My dogs LOVED to be anywhere I was, so they just jumped right in there, so enjoy your trip!

My dog loves to travel. Although he mostly sleeps on my bed anyway, he does have a dog bed and I usually bring that along and put it in the hotel.. makes it more "homey" for him. I also usually give him bottled water as the water quality in hotels isnt always good and can affect their tummies.

Have fun!

Definately get a vet check first, if you're crossing state lines you are actually supposed to have a current health certificate. I have never been stopped and required to show mine, but I always thought I would rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them.
Cloth diapers are great for clean ups and are soft and absorbant. (WalMart about $12 a 12 pack - they're worth it.)
Do all of us a favor when travelling with pets, make sure you don't leave the hotel rooms covered in doggie dirt. (I don't believe you would, you sound responsible). Several hotels have switched to a no dog policy when the dog show people insisted on grooming their dogs in the rooms and not cleaning up after. Apparantly, hotel housekeeping folks find dog hair everywhere offensive. I usually travel with an extra blanket so that the dog can sleep on the bed without getting hair all over the hotel sheets. (Although, I usually tell people to do as I say and not as I do as far as sleeping with their dogs - I tell people not to, but then I do it. lol)
Best wishes for an awesome, exciting, relazing, fun-filled trip!!
and tell us details!

You have gotten some good advice here, so there are just a couple of things I would add...first, a crate. I always travel with one when the dogs hit the road with me. If that's not an option I'd haul along the dog bed. Dogs get anxious sometimes in hotels because of all the noises they cannot identify. A crate allows my dog to be off duty and get some rest. A stressed and unrested dog can become a pain at best and unpredictable at worst. Just like us humans.
Someone pointed out that your cell number should be on the tags. I agree 100% and would add that if your pup is not microchipped doing so can not only potentially reunite you with your dog should he become lost, but can also prove ownership should someone decide they'd like to steal him.
Other than that I always take aspirin, emergency cleaning equipment for dog and room, water, food, bedding and a copy of the dogs rabies certificate. You might want to google vets that are along your route. A list in hand of 5 or 6 options along the way might keep the old friend Murphy away.

Have a fun trip! I love traveling with my dogs better than I like traveling with people. They don't try to change the radio station!
