My 6 month old Blue Copper Marans has something wrong with her vent. I took her to the vet and they put her on bactrim and pain meds. I'm concerned that its a yeast problem and will only get worse. I soaked her in a betadine bath as instructed by the vet and it seemed to clean it up a bit. Just want to make sure she's getting the right treatment. Any advice appreciated as I'm new to chickens. Sorry the pics are graphic. Thanks:)

The vent does appear "yeasty". You can mix water and Betadine in a spray bottle and spritz her vent a couple times a day. You can feed her a tablespoon of Greek yogurt once a day to counter the yeast in her digestive tract. ACV in the water can also help.

If none of these things clears it up, there's the copper sulfate remedy, but it's strictly a last resort.

I have a friend that is having some problems with her baby chicks about 7 weeks old. Any ideas what this might be? She already lost one.
