Possum or Raccoon? Help!?

As for the skunk itself, maybe one was attacked by the unknown predator, foxes, coyotes, hawks, and owls are all known skunk eaters, or at least attackers

That is kinda what I was thinking. When all this started I saw a possum in front of my house but I'm still half convinced it's a raccoon.

Opossums are just like skunks in the way they only kill if a bird is asleep, but they are mainly scavenger I believe. It could possibly be a coon doing the killings, although I personally haven't seen one out and about in the day. But coons could out run chickens.

Yeah I'm just hoping I can catch it in my trap and be done with it.

Cat food cans do wonders when live trapping coons.

I thought I was having a coyote problem given the den of coyotes on the next acre over. Trail cam revealed I have a coyote problem at night, and a neighbors german shepard problem early am. Trail cams are great surveillance!
