Post hatch yolk-belly chick - final Update

Is it normal for a little blood to come out of their butt? I was thinking it was from being in the egg and it's pooping out the yucky stuff first

Maybe its just coming from where the umbilical was attached? How much blood? How long has it been since the chick hatched?

oh...didn't know about the cord!! Duh...now that you mention it...it was a little string looking thing.

The little booger hatched at 430 this morning.

I just put it into the brooder and it's under the lamp...it's still peeping quite a bit...does that mean its cold?

day 20 no peeping but heavy rocking of the eggs when I make the sound of a breeding henn into the little holes of the bator. Are they OK? I am so excited to see my first chick. What is the correct temperature for day 17 to 21? Thanks

The temp is the same throughout - egg temp should be as close to 99.5 as possible.
