Performed Crop surgery two days ago. All went well. Removed huge blockage. Crated her and gave her water only for day one. Day two I gave her yogurt, applesauce and oatmeal - very small amounts in 3 feedings. Last night when I was moving her crate from the run to the coop for the night I noticed her crop seemed quite large again. I was hoping it would empty overnight.
This morning I moved her crate back to the run (to be with her friends and get air) and I noticed her crop was still puffy. Not huge like before the surgery but big enough for me to have concern. She greedily gobbled the tablespoon of yogurt and applesauce I gave her. Her overnight stool was very watery, no substance at all. She is drinking enough water with acv in it and is readily gobbling everything I give her and looking for more.
Should I be giving her grit at all? I figured she didn't need it since she is eating slippery stuff but what do I know. Aside from not laying in two days (I don't blame her witht he stress she is going through) she is acting perfectly normal.
What now???? I sincerely doubt she has anything still in there blocking the way - we cleaned out an enormous mass.
Any advice is welcome, both Sweetie and I appreciate your insights.
