I cannot update as they passed away this morning, within 6 hours of one another. I will be getting new chicks maybe in the spring from the original breeder, without a middle person.
(Hopefully hatching eggs in several colors including a loverly black)
These we're quite a loss, I had already built the tall pen structure, I just had to enclose with 1/2" wiring grid

Aww man. So sorry for your loss. I always hate to loose chicks.

I have eggs for sale from a phoenix pen containing blue wheaten, white, golden, silver, and an Easter egger. Pm me if your interested and I can give you a deal.

I have a pair of bantam gold duckwing Phoenix. They are quite good quality, the rooster came 2nd at my countryside show and my hen came 1st, they are in moult at the moment but I need to hatch from them as my other hen died, how long should it be until she laid, she's just over a year old now, she laid last year but my incubator played up so the eggs died. Any imput would be great, also how long should she remain laying? Will she go broody?

Whatever feed you are giving, make sure you also give calcium(oyster shell). She if you have a nest box for her and always have water and feed for them, they should start laying in no time. Mine tend to lay through the whole year unless they get stressed or the weather changes greatly. After they begin to lay, dont disturb the eggs for a while, and let her go broody on them. If she has 12 or more and she isn't broody, take some of what spear to be older and let her keep laying until she broods on them. Mine seem to have no problem being broody
