Phoenix really don't come in alot of colors.. You have your standard colors...bb red, silver duckwing, golden, and white.. All other's are genetically engineered... lol. So they can come peacomb,rosecomb, etc.. depends on what was outcrossed to.

What ever she used to get the lavender and cuckoo into the breed had rose comb in it, so the result is some will be rose combed some will be single. I am currently breeding them now and getting a lot now with the correct single combs.
But yes outside the 4 standard colors, someone has to start some where to make anything new. Takes years of dedicated breeding to get them back to perfect type.But without folks doing all that, you'd be stuck with the same ol 4 boring colors.

That's soo cool. I love rose combed birds so it does not make a difference to me! I think genetics are so neat! Only 7 more days untill I can start expecting chicks!!!!

yep, being a d'anver guy too, I am obviously partial to the rose comb too.
Even if it aint right, it looks cool. I have several rose comb phoenix from Toni, that one you mentioned, a blue cuckoo, a fibro silver all really look great to me. But still working to get a single cause that's what everyone wants in them
