Post Phoenix Pics Please

Pics
Yes this is what I am afraid of. I know that the phoenix are supposed to lay white eggs, but mine lay very lightly tinted eggs. I dont know if that has something to do with the ear lobes being as dull as they are. But in any case, the over-all shape, size , and color of the birds appear to be good to me; however this is my first time raising the phoenix.

most likely so, may have something way back in them, most do if you get down to it. But over all, they look to be pretty good birds. Breed them and cull threw and you should end up with some real nice offspring from them in the future. Some just have pale lobed, some do get it from out crosses.

nice pics Kellie.
Bet with a few more months that silver especially will be a pretty boy. Other one looks like one of the birchens I have been getting off my Brwon red hen from Toni-Marie. He should make a nice bird too I think. Tail and saddle looks to be a little lighter than the silver though but that could all change as he developes.

Always nice to see pics of what they turned out to be

great!

Glad you like them and look forward to seeing more pics.

Been getting a lot of reports back this year of them cleaning up at shows around the country.
Which makes me very happy. I have always wanted to do that myself. But, with all the time it takes caring for them ( did NPIP inventory today, 444 birds here now not counting the babies), working orders, etc, and not to mention a 10 hour+ day at work, I just never have the time. So I'm having ti live my show life from people who buy from us, which is good enough for me for now.

Anyway, look forward to seeing more of them.
I need to get some new ones up myself, got a bunch of new stuff in a while back from T-M including a beautiful silver crele rooster (barred silver duckwing) To me, he's one of the prettiest ones here.

I dont have any pics yet but just got a couple new pullets. The silver hen I have that hatched out all cockerels now has just two, we kept the white and the best silver cockerel. I just went to the farmers market because I heard a fellow phoenix/longtail breeder was there that we sold birds to. When we were working on the creles he was working on largefowl but used our bantams as a base. Anyway he had a bunch of this years chicks, some gorgeous yearling roosters, and some young grow outs. We were trying to thin down the birds but couldnt resist. We got a white pullet and a khaki silver pullet to go with the white cockerel and the silver cockerel. Or I might cross the khaki silver pullet with the golden and work that way too. They are all bantams by the way. I will try to get some pics after the rush of fair season is done.
