This is the final brood that was hatched this year. All three of these Silkies co-parented 9 chicks - 5 of which were Silkies and the other 4 were mixed chicks. The hens have ended their brooding time though. It lasted for about 8 weeks until they had enough.

Awww, cute... Here are my own bundles of cuteness, my silkie and showgirl chicks, less than 48 hours old, still.

This is Juanita and her six hatchlings that she's taken to explore the food dish.



And this is Sophie and her one silkie chick, the only on that hatched of her three eggs.


She's still a little astounded by what came out from under her!

All chicks from the same batch of hatching eggs. Juanita, as the experienced mom, got the bulk of them.
