Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

WHEEEEE! We were so afraid they were two cockerels! The Roo just might be our next roo, unless one of the black baby roos turns out really nice. We have 3 adult orps: a splash and 2 blues. Looks like hubby will have his orp flock next year!

I can;'t see the heads very well on the splash in the back or the blacks but from that photo looks like only the one in the front has the very red comb and wattles which is a good indicator. The blacks look pulletey in the pic but I can't see their faces to well. Maybe a close up would be better.

Okay, I can't stand it. I took some pics of my buffs tonight and I just have to share. They're only 8 weeks old and hatchery chickens, but I love them all the same. The first one is of "Bubba" my one and only roo. He is such a character!

This is another one of him. I think he likes his picture taken... what a ham!

And here's one of the flock, including some GLW pullets.

They're getting fluffy butts! I LOVE fluffy butts!

Whew! Glad to get that out of my system. I can't say things like that around muggles, er, I mean non-chicken folk.

"I can't say things like that around muggles, er, I mean non-chicken folk." Sharon...do I sense another "Potter Fan" in our midst???? I'm a HUGE Potter-Head !!! Your buffs are really sweet.

I took a few photos the other day when it was nice out. For some reason, they weren't all that keen on getting their pictures taken that day, though. These are the best I could get.

Thanks Paula. Yeah, the babies in the 3rd and 4th photos are 6 weeks old there. They are getting really, really big. I'm really impressed with them so far. The width is great, feathers way down the legs already...they look really good so far. I can't wait to see how they grow out. Those are the first 3 chicks hatched from Clementine and Winston, btw.

Joy...the three pullets I hatched from you are doing great....I need to get some pictures of them. They are big and very round girls. There are 2 blacks and one blue. The blue is going to have great lacing.

Hey Katy - yes you do need to get some pictures of them. I'd love to see them. How old are they now? I have it written in my "chicken book," but I don't have it handy at the moment.

Joy, Here are some of mine from you.

This was the first hatch. I love my splash cockerel and 2 lovely blue pullets that are getting great lacing.

The Black cockerel I got from you, growing out nicely and such a gentleman. I named him Sir Walter Raleigh.
