Urghh! My girls have lice :(. Have ordered some treatment so I will put a spot on on them all and dust the house next week end. Bella was having a dust bath so I sprinkled some dust on her haha

The best thing to use for lice and mites is Permethrin. I use the liquid in my coops as the spray gets into cracks better than the dust. I use the liquid also on my birds in decent weather, but I'll use the dust if it's very cold, or coming home from a show. You can buy permethrin concentrate at garden centers. TSC has the dust.I treat my birds at least 4 times a year.Lice, and particularly mites, will pull a bird down in a hurry.

They are taking my 8 year old ex batt down quickly :(. She really isnt well. I have a little bit of a spot on left now so I will give it to her until I'm sorted for next week.

Got everything ordered now. Should hopefully get them treated next weekend.
Oh, good Johnn. Mites and lice will pull birds down in a hurry in the winter. Don't forget to re-treat in 10 days -2 weeks to get any little creepy crawlies that hatch. I always try to pluck off the feathers that have eggs on them too.

They are pulling down Ginger quickly but luckily she is still eating. I will also get to have a closer look at Bella's feet before the next month too. I managed to get a couple of photos today and I thinks she does have a scab now :(
