Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Bella is doing something really funny at the minute. Her mother (she hatched Bella out in 2012) is broody and when ever she is off her eggs and goes near Bella Bella puffs up and starts running round clucking like she's broody! I think she does it thinking that her mother won't attack her if she does but it back fire on her today! Her mother started chasing her to get her!

I have two 7 week old Buff Orpingtons named Buffy and Sabrina. They are larger and softer than my other chicks and they are the sweetest, most loving chicks that I have. They never pick on any of the others and when I had them in the brooder they would fly out of the tub and hang out on my lap or perch on my arm everytime I would visit them. They love eating out of my hand and when I have them outside they stay near me. Love these girls!

What do you think of this guy? I culled my Roos down to two if the best looking, my black roo (please feel free to critique) and a blue (not pictured) Here's my thing...the black rooster is larger, rounder, but nasty and very rough on the ladies. My blue not as nice looking and smallish, but very gentle with the hens. Is my black roo worth using for breeding?

I think this guy is about 7 month old.

My chicks have a good case of the uglies! They are six weeks old this weekend. Guesses on gender? The darker one seems to be a cockerel (always thought this), but the two lighter ones? They are from blue laced gold breeding, so I guess that makes them splash, or "buff" laced, correct? Chick 1 Chick 2 Chick 3
Lady, lady, roo. But.... The legs are rather thick looking on chick 1 and 2.

Day 21: all three hatched but one didn't make it. It was lying in the food bowl and the broody was sitting talking to it and trying to get it back under her :(. Have moved them onto the floor now as we have had chicks fall out the nest box in the past so thought it would be best to do it now. These are the first of my own eggs to ever hatch! 100% fertile!

Bella is broody now and she is really bad! She had two eggs so I took them away and replaced them with an egg that I think will be fertile and one that I don't think is and she went back to her nest and say I front of the eggs so they were just sitting behind her! She also comes off her nest and she clucks like a normal broody but then she kind of just gets bored and starts acting normal!
