Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Hello, Orpington thread! I'm a long-time Buff Orpington lover, and this year I added some blue and lavender to my flock as well. I also got this bird, and I'd like to ask your opinion on what color she is (it occurred to me too late it might be helpful to take photos of her next to the other colors for contrast too late, I can do that tomorrow if I need to).She definitely looks markedly different from the blues, and has quite a bit of contrast with the lavenders. My phone isn't the best at representing the colors so I took pictures in two types of light to give a better idea.

In shade-

In sunlight-

So you can see the shaft of her feathers-

Thanks for any help.

. The buffs are very friendly. One named Snuggles never misses an opportunity to hop on my lap and tell me about her day

I would say she's a lavender... because blues have darker lacing around each feather... She could be a possible cross between a buff and a lavender...idk I'd say lavender instead of blue tho

Haven't been on here for a bit!

It's nice that Bella's mother has took her two old chicks back, but her baby one is scared of the two big ones so is getting pushed out from food and I bet when she calls it for treats the big ones get them! Just wish she would look after her little one more.

Bella's chick is getting so big!!!

if older birds are getting in the way remove them till the young chick gets bigger

i learned this the hard way

i ended loosing a couple silkie chicks to to a pair old large older buff orpington chciks

the larger chicks ended up keeping the mother hen distracted & the small chicks got too cold & died

I'm keeping my eye on them. I can't shut them off as they are free range, but I will figure something out if I notice the chick is suffering.
