I just cant seem to kill any chickens anymore myself.. i normally just re home now or take to the local poultry sales. guess I'm getting soft in my days when it comes to orps .. use to cull young chicks to once i knew it was a roo, but haven't done that for a many number of years now.

Kathy- great looking birds- you can send me everyone in picture 3 and 11. LOL!!
Why do you suppose the one is smaller? She seems short in the leg for sure.

Well, I have 11 roosters (Orps), and I only plan to keep a couple of them. Since I am taking meaties to the prosessor in August, I may as well take the extras. I also have about 25 other roosters going ... RIR, rosecomb RIR, Barred Rocks, and Buckeyes. Sad thing is (about processing them), they all come from exhibition stock. I know they have been well cared for, and that makes for good eating. My freezer should be full soon.
